Labyrinth (1986)
There are so many layers…
for example in Labyrinth movie. Child watcher would just see the top layer: Protagonist Girl in a magical world searching her way to the goblin city to save her brother from the evil Goblin King. However when the child watcher grows up and returns all over again (many times perhaps) watching Labyrinth…now maybe as a Pre-Teenager, watcher could find whole new different layers from the movie. Watcher might find a love story, almost like a fairy tale love story…only with a very confusing and sad childish ending. But when the watcher grows ups more…and now is an adult, watcher might just understand the whole picture of it. Labyrinth might be a story of obsessions for the Adult Watcher, it might be a story of loosing childhood… it might be actually everything. That’s why it’s the best children movie ever made, there are so few of them which you can really watch so many times and always find something new of them.
So thank you Jim Henson, for everything.
